Volnay Premier Cru 2018 from Domaine Coche-Dury is a Premier Cru red Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Coche-Dury is known for its extremely limited production and meticulous, traditional approach, producing profound wines with immense textural quality. This wine displays a deep, ripe profile, offering concentrated aromas of black cherry, dark plum, earth and wood smoke. The palate is full-bodied and dense, showcasing immense concentration and a tightly wound structure supported by fine-grained tannins.

Vinous
The usual blend of Les Taillepieds and Clos des Chêne, the 2018 Volnay 1er Cru has a more savory bouquet than the Auxey-Duresses, hints of dried blood mingling with the iron filings that infuse the red and black fruit. The palate is the most saline of the three reds that I tasted, delivering firm grip toward the finish. Maybe a little chewy at the moment; it just need 4–5 years in bottle.
