Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rosé 2015 is a meticulously crafted vintage rosé Champagne. This vintage comprises an 88% Pinot Noir and 12% Chardonnay blend, sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, including Aÿ and Avize. The wine underwent eight years of lees ageing, contributing to a complex flavour profile. The nose presents hints of minerality, red berries and subtle floral notes. The palate reveals a layered approach with tart red fruit, citrus zest and a delicate spiciness.

The 2015 La Grand Dame Rosé is a potent, vinous Champagne. Kirsch, red cherry, cinnamon, dried flowers, blood orange and rose petal fill out the layers. The addition of 14-15% stil Pinot from Bouzy lends notable textural depth in a rich, resonant Champagne that is quite impressive today. This is a decidedly Pinot-driven Rosé. Give it time in the glass to open. Antonio Galloni8th April 2025

A blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir (with 13% of red wine), the 2015 Brut Rosé La Grande Dame exhales a complex, elegant bouquet of red berries, flowers, spices, pastry and citrus blossom. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vinous, it’s perfectly balanced with a pinpoint mousse, a delicate core of fruit and an ethereal, long and mineral finish. This lovely rendition of La Grande Dame Rosé could age well over the next decade. - Yohan Castaing

The 'Grande Dame' of Champagne

Founded in Reims in 1772, Veuve Clicquot is one of the largest Champagne houses. The famous Madame Clicquot is credited with many innovations during her tenure as head of the house in the early 1800s - introducing vintage-dated Champagne, inventing the process of riddling to ensure a clearer wine and developing the rosé Champagne produced through blending. Madame Clicquot is also credited with helping to popularise Champagne with high society in Europe during the Napoleonic wars.

The non-vintage is fresh and crisp with ripe fruit balancing citrussy zing while the vintage offerings are richer, fuller and more complex with notes of toasted brioche, almond and crushed green apple. La Grande Dame is the house's prestige cuvée - made only in exceptional years, the Champagne is produced using wines selected from Veuve Clicquot's Grand Cru vineyard holdings.
