Le Desir 2022 is a Cabernet Franc-based blend from Verite, sourced from a mosaic of Sonoma County micro-crus. Inspired by the iconic wines of Saint-Émilion, this blend consists of 80% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec, aged for 16 months in 95% new French oak. This vintage features deep purple colour and high-toned aromatics of blackberry liqueur, lavender and rosemary, underpinned by a finish of iron-inflected minerality.

The 2022 Le Désir is tremendous. A wine of poise, balance and immeasurable depth, the 2022 is so lifted and bright, almost radiant in its technicolor vibrancy and beguiling Franc character. Blood orange zest, bittersweet chocolate, lavender, dried herbs and iron filings march across the palate, saturating the palate with intense yet perfectly measured concentration. Le Désir boasts a very intense structure, but also a sense of immediacy and fine beauty that is impossible to miss. Magnificent. Antonio Galloni27th January 2026

Medium to full intensity, with the signature curl of violets and peonies of this wine, slate tannins, rise and lift and grip, fragrant gunsmoke, woodsmoke, crushed red roses on the finish. Pierre Seillan director and winemaker, Jackson Family Wines owners.Jane Anson27th August 2025

Bordeaux via Sonoma County

A true visionary, Jess Jackson’s lengthy career, which spanned more than 30 years, was driven by a passion for producing extraordinary wine from California’s best vineyards. Jackson had longed to create a wine that would be just as good as the world’s best wines and was confident that the terroir in Sonoma County had that potential. Teaming up with Bordeaux winemaker Pierre Seillan, the duo created Vérité - a project with the aim of making some of the world's greatest Cabernet Sauvignon.

As Pierre approaches retirement, the reins are being passed to his daughter Hélène Seillan, who grew up in Sonoma County and Saint-Émilion, studying Viticulture and Oneology at the Institut Rural de Vayres in Bordeaux. Hélène is set to build on the work of her father and Jess Jackson - crafting Bordeaux-inspired Cabernet with poise and precision.
