Vérité ‘La Muse’ is a captivating red blend, with Merlot as its dominant varietal, often accompanied by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and sometimes other Bordeaux varietals. The 2019 vintage reveals enticing aromas of ripe black cherries, plums and violets, complemented by hints of mocha and cedar. On the palate, the wine offers a rich tapestry of flavours, including black fruit, chocolate and well-integrated oak. The lingering finish underscores its aging potential and overall finesse.

The 2019 La Muse offers the purity and layering of the best 2019s from Sonoma County. The nose opens with generous aromas of mushroom, underbrush, licorice and garrigue complementing a core of Morello cherry. The medium to full-bodied palate is silky and plush with pixelated tannins. Its fruit is still somewhat coiled, driven by graphite tones at this stage, although it offers plenty of refreshing acidity that gives a weightless, ethereal feel to the fragrant finish. It deserves several more years in bottle to unwind.Erin Brooks31st August 2023

Merlot dominant, full of concentrated but crunchy blue and black fruits, a ton of concentration and tannic heft, with undergrowth, smoked earth, aniseed and fennel on the finish. Great stuff. Pierre Seillan winemaker.Jane Anson31st August 2022

Bordeaux via Sonoma County

A true visionary, Jess Jackson’s lengthy career, which spanned more than 30 years, was driven by a passion for producing extraordinary wine from California’s best vineyards. Jackson had longed to create a wine that would be just as good as the world’s best wines and was confident that the terroir in Sonoma County had that potential. Teaming up with Bordeaux winemaker Pierre Seillan, the duo created Vérité - a project with the aim of making some of the world's greatest Cabernet Sauvignon.

As Pierre approaches retirement, the reins are being passed to his daughter Hélène Seillan, who grew up in Sonoma County and Saint-Émilion, studying Viticulture and Oneology at the Institut Rural de Vayres in Bordeaux. Hélène is set to build on the work of her father and Jess Jackson - crafting Bordeaux-inspired Cabernet with poise and precision.
