La Joie 2022 is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend from Verite, modelled after the classic wines of Pauillac and grown on the steep volcanic benches of the Mayacamas Mountains. This Sonoma County wine incorporates fruit from numerous mature plantings across various micro-climates and elevations to achieve its signature complexity. The 2022 vintage displays a profound core of structure and depth, reflecting the philosophy of vigneron Pierre Seillan. It is a powerful, long-lived wine that balances the intensity of mountain fruit with the elegance of meticulous French oak élevage and precise blending.

A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, the 2022 La Joie is a chiseled, muscular wine. Brooding Cabernet character leads the charge. Intensely structured and drenched in minerality, the 2022 unfurls slowly and confidently, gradually revealing itself with shades of crushed rocks, graphite, espresso, sage, tar and black cherry fruit. Today, La Joie is a very reticent, inward-leaning wine that shows a mere glimpse of what’s to come—a seriously complex offering for the most patient among you. Antonio Galloni27th January 2026

A little more fruit forward and open than La Muse, this has raspberry and red cherry fruit, excellent lift with burnt orange peel character, a ton of personality and cheerfully supple spiced tannins, great stuff. Bordeaux via Sonoma County

A true visionary, Jess Jackson’s lengthy career, which spanned more than 30 years, was driven by a passion for producing extraordinary wine from California’s best vineyards. Jackson had longed to create a wine that would be just as good as the world’s best wines and was confident that the terroir in Sonoma County had that potential. Teaming up with Bordeaux winemaker Pierre Seillan, the duo created Vérité - a project with the aim of making some of the world's greatest Cabernet Sauvignon.

As Pierre approaches retirement, the reins are being passed to his daughter Hélène Seillan, who grew up in Sonoma County and Saint-Émilion, studying Viticulture and Oneology at the Institut Rural de Vayres in Bordeaux. Hélène is set to build on the work of her father and Jess Jackson - crafting Bordeaux-inspired Cabernet with poise and precision.
