Tronquoy Lalande 2009 is a Left Bank Bordeaux blend from the Saint-Estèphe appellation. This exceptional vintage comprises primarily Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The nose reflects the blend`s complexity with initial earthy notes, evolving towards hints of dark fruit. The palate presents a robust profile, showcasing firm tannins and a concentrated core of fruit and spice. Ageing potential is notable with this magnum format.

Vinous
(a blend of 51% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon and 7% petit verdot) Deep ruby-purple. Very refined, classic Bordeaux aromas of violet, cedar and graphite; the petit verdot and cabernet sauvignon really dominate the merlot. Sweet, ripe red berry fruit shows an almost liqueur-like creaminess, but a peppery element and good underlying minerality lend grip to the finish, which features slightly dry, mouthcoating tannins and nice cedary persistence. A very successful wine that calls for a few years of cellaring and should drink well until 2025.Ian d'Agata1st May 2010
