Tronquoy-Lalande 2009 is a concentrated Saint-Estèphe produced during a landmark year under the ownership of the Bouygues family and the management of the Château Montrose team. This vintage benefited from an exceptionally warm summer, resulting in an opulent wine with dense layers of blackberry, liquorice and chocolate. The high proportion of Merlot in the blend provides a fleshy, supple mouthfeel that contrasts with the appellation`s traditional austerity. It remains a powerful and deep-coloured red, standing as one of the most successful recent releases from this historic estate.

The 2009 Tronquoy Lalande, a blend of 51% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, is the finest wine they have yet produced. It reveals an opulent bouquet of mulberries, blueberries, raspberries and spring flowers, full body, silky tannin, low acidity and a lush, pure mouthfeel. This uncharacteristically round, generous, sumptuous wine should be drinkable early on. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
