Situated on the outskirts of the Alpilles mountain range between Avignon and Arles in Provence, Domaine de Trévallon holds a distinguished position as one of the South of France`s finest wineries. In 1973, Eloi Dürrbach, the winery`s founder, planted the initial vines on his father`s property. Following Eloi`s passing in 2021, the family-owned estate continues under the stewardship of his son, Antoine, and his wife. The 2007 vintage is a blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, aged for 24 months in foudres and barrels. Expect notes of mulberry, bramble and blackcurrant, with hints of flowers, meat, leather and citrus.

The 2007 Vin de Pays du Bouche du Rhône Rouge is a wine of pure and total pleasure. Ripe, racy and exotic, the 2007 possesses tremendous richness from the very first taste. But there is more to the 2007 than just flamboyance. It remains a very young wine, mostly built on fruit, with not a lot of aromatic nuance. I imagine that will come with time. Today, the 2007 is a wine to admire for its power, structure and potential. Super-ripe black cherry, coffee, licorice and dark spice are some of the nuances that linger on the substantial finish. This bottle was released from the domaine in 2020.Antonio Galloni1st October 2020
