We are thrilled to present an exclusive 13 year old Tomatin, bottled at cask strength and aged exclusively in a first fill Sherry hogshead. At its natural strength, this whisky offers a robust and uncompromised experience, showcasing the full spectrum of flavours developed over 13 years in a fresh Oloroso cask. Tomatin Distillery, nestled in the Monadhliath Mountains of the Scottish Highlands, has been crafting whisky since 1897 and is known for its unique location at one of the highest distillery altitudes in Scotland - a true Highland malt.

On the nose, the cask strength amplifies the whisky’s rich and complex aromas. Deep, concentrated sherry notes of dark fruits such as plums and raisins come to the fore, complemented by the earthy warmth of toasted nuts and a faint hint of leather. A delicate undertone of smoked meat adds an unexpected but welcome savoury element. The palate is bold and full-bodied, offering an explosion of flavours ranging from sweet sherry-soaked raisins and caramelised nuts to a gentle smokiness reminiscent of charred meats.

Bottled at 58.6% without colouring or filtration and limited to 294 bottles.

Tomatin

Once Scotland's Largest Distillery

Founded in 1987, Tomatin grew to be one of Scotland's largest distilleries, producing huge amounts of single malt whisky for blenders. Expansion between the 1950s and 1970s increased the number of stills from two to 23, allowing the distillery to product 12 millions litres a year. An economic downturn in the 1980s led to 11 of these stills being dismantled and the distillery's capacity was reduced significantly. In modern times, Tomatin has reinvented itself as a premium Highland malt with fresh branding and a focus on quality and innovation.

Tomatin's entry level singe malt is 'Legacy', a spicy dram aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon casks and virgin oak barrels. Beyond that, a series of age statement drams and limited edition casks finishes including whiskies finished in Cognac, Fino Sherry and Rivesaltes barrels. Independent bottlings of single casks are relatively common and worth seeking out.
