Taittinger Brut Reserve is a sensational non-vintage Champagne for any occasion. It is a light, elegant and delicately balanced Champagne made from the classic varieties. 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier. The expressive nose offers hints of peach, hawthorn and brioche. The palate is lively and fresh with a lightly honeyed finish.

The newly released 2014 Brut Millésimé from Taittinger is showing very well, offering up aromas of white peach, green apple, nougat and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with a charming core of fruit and a delicate mousse, this is a pretty, expressive vintage for Taittinger. Sufficiently open and fruit-driven to be enjoyed, toasty complexity with come with a few years on cork. - William Kelley

40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir. Produced each year from the first pressings of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, this is the definitive cuvée of Champagne Taittinger. It is a carefully balanced blend of wines from up to 25 different `crus`. Aged for three to four years giving the wine depth whilst allowing the component parts to become fully integrated. Real autolysis on the nose at last. Fresh, zesty palate. Positively citrus fresh. Too expensive though. (JR)

A Family Business

The Taittinger family have been running their eponymous Champagne house since 1932. One of the last family-owned houses in Reims, the brand has a reputation for quality-driven vintage and non-vintage Champagnes. Sourcing fruit from over 35 vineyards sites, the team produce a range of styles including an elegant non-vintage, two sweeter Champagnes in the form of Nocturne and Demi-Sec and a Grand Cru-based non-vintage.

The Taittinger family's Prestige Cuvée is Comtes de Champagne, first produced in 1952. This Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) is produced using fruit from five different Grand Cru sites across the Côte de Blancs. An aromatic, full-bodied Champagne with notes of citrus oil and green apple in youth, Comtes de Champagne ages superbly, with time in the bottle revealing notes of toasted hazelnut and a creamy richness.
