Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2015 is a white wine from the Pessac-Léognan region of Bordeaux, crafted from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. This vintage reflects a warm growing season, resulting in concentrated aromas of citrus zest, white peach and fresh herbs, complemented by subtle oak influences. The palate reveals a luxurious mouthfeel, with layers of fruit and mineral characteristics that enhance its structure.

Composed of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Gris, the Smith Haut Lafitte 2015 Blanc has an incredibly compelling nose of ripe apricots, passion fruit, honeyed lemons and crushed stones with a hint of lime blossoms. Medium-bodied, super intense and super minerally, the palate sings of stone fruit and citrus layers with plenty of zip and zing, finishing with incredible persistence, alluring fruitiness and a savory contrast that will keep you reaching for another glass. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Bright and vivid pale gold in colour, still keeps its vibrancy at 10 years old. This is gorgeous, just so delicious and enticing, juicy, gripping, heads to tertiary white pepper and truffle but maintains tension and forward motion, just deepening through through the mlid palate. Love it.Jane Anson19th February 2025

The 2015 Smith Haut-Lafitte Blanc has a fragrant bouquet of dried honey, white peach and light spicy aromas, unfurling with every swirl of the glass. The palate presents a slightly honeyed opening countered by acidity, but feels perhaps just a little too rich toward the second half. Tropical notes emerge on the finish. The balance is here and maybe this will give more with a couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. Neal Martin1st July 2019

Organic Winemaking in Pessac-Léognan

Château Smith Haut Lafitte has a long and prestigious history and, since it was acquired by the Cathiard family in 1990, has garnered a reputation as one of the finest producers in Pessac-Léognan. Certified organic since 2019, the estate produces both red and white wines, in addition to a second wine, Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte.

With an estate spanning 80ha, seven red and white grape varieties are planted, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc for reds and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris for whites. The red wines are generous and juicy, boasting wonderful ageability (and with less oak-dominance from 2010 onwards), whilst the whites offer both superb value and impeccable quality.
