Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Scarecrow 2007 is a mature Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The wine presents aromas of dark fruits, mocha and cedar. On the palate, it offers a structured body with smooth tannins and a balanced acidity, showcasing layers of blackcurrant and subtle spice. Established in 1996 by the renowned winemaker Celia Welch, Scarecrow Vineyard is known for its meticulous vineyard practices and focus on producing wines of precision and character.

(14.6% alcohol): Medium ruby-red. Very pure, very ripe but bright aromas of black cherry, dark berries, licorice pastille, minerals and Rutherford dust, lifted by a violet topnote. Wonderfully creamy and sweet but with firm structure underlying its black cherry, loam, mineral, tobacco and licorice flavors. Very concentrated, structured wine with excellent delineation and beautifully refined, building tannins. Finishes quite subtle and long, with a lingering black cherry taste and excellent delineation. This is impeccably balanced and thus accessible today but I suspect there's more ahead. A wonderfully complete Cabernet Sauvignon.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2017

A New Name in a Historic Vineyard

The J.J. Cohn Estate that produces Scarecrow borders what was once the legendary vineyard of Inglenook winemaker Gustave Niebaum. In 1945, the then owner John Daniel convinced his neighbour, J.J. Cohn, to plant eighty acres of Cabernet vines on the 180-acre parcel Cohn had purchased a few years prior.

The property served as a summer retreat for Cohn’s wife and their family and J. J had no ambitions to become a winemaker himself, but Daniel promised to buy his grapes, so Cohn planted vines. J.J. Cohn fruit figured prominently in Inglenook’s superlative Cabernet Sauvignons of the post-war era, and has more recently gone into wines of such renown as Opus One, Niebaum-Coppola, Duckhorn, Insignia and Etude. This is an estate with a formidable pedigree that continues to make some of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa. The winemaker is Celia Welch - one of Napa's most experienced.
