Saumur Brézé Clos Rougeard 2004 is Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley. The Foucault family produced this wine using biodynamic viticulture to achieve great structural precision and aromatic focus. This 2004 bottling exhibits notes of lemon curd, quince, honeycomb and a piercing flinty minerality. Following maturation in small barrels, the palate is dense and vertical with a sharp acidic spine. An exceptionally long and saline finish highlights the unique limestone terroir of the Brézé hill.

The Jewel of the Loire Valley

Clos Rougeard, a small but legendary estate in the Loire Valley, is revered for its exquisite Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc wines. The Foucault family, who managed the estate for generations, turned Clos Rougeard into a cult winery, with wines that are highly sought after for their purity, precision, and ability to age for decades. Located in the Saumur-Champigny appellation, the estate’s vineyards are cultivated organically, with a focus on low yields and minimal intervention in the cellar. The resulting wines are rich, structured, and deeply expressive of their terroir, offering a perfect balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality. Clos Rougeard’s wines are not just drinks—they are experiences, each bottle offering a glimpse into the soul of the Loire Valley.
