Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Sassicaia 2002 is Super Tuscan red wine from Bolgheri, Tuscany. Tenuta San Guido faced a cooler year in 2002, requiring meticulous selection to achieve aromatic clarity and phenolic maturity. This wine offers a refined profile of red currants, cedar, tobacco leaf and dried herbs supported by a medium-bodied frame. After more than 20 years, the tannins have resolved into a silky texture, displaying a transparency typical of non-solar years. A vibrant acidic core remains, leading to a persistent mineral finish that reflects the stony soils of the estate and the unique microclimate of the original maritime vineyard.

87 Vinous

Medium saturated ruby. Cool aromas of cassis, dark chocolate and mocha. Then sweet and bright in the mouth, with intense, peppery berry flavors complicated by leather and minerals. A distinctly stony, gripping style of wine that finishes a tad short and green. Currently less expressive and less generous than the best vintages, but keep in mind that reputedly off vintages such as the '89 and the '92 are splendid now. Ian d'Agata1st September 2006

Very brisk, smooth, seductive nose. Smart, sweet, nose that convinces the taster, in the way of a Bordeaux first growth, that only the finest French oak has been used. Gentle, winning texture but pretty expensive (£575 in bond per dozen from John Armit). Already a fine and satisfying mouthful displaying mild, Lafite-like charm. There is quality and vigour here and the wine should have a long life. A good wine to counter 2002’s reputation in Italy… (JR)

The Original Super Tuscan

Tenuta San Guido’s flagship red wine, Sassicaia wine, has become a Tuscan icon in its own right. This fine wine, made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, is characterized by all the hallmarks that have established it as one of Italy’s standout wines: sumptuous fruit, fine texture, beautiful perfume, and effortless balance. A prototype of Super Tuscan wines, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta decided to experiment with Bordeaux varietals, noting a similarity between the geography of Tuscany and Graves in southwest France.

Early vintages of this iconic Italian wine were only available to taste at the winery. The 1968 vintage was the first Sassicaia wine to be sold to the public, and in 1994, Sassicaia was granted its own official DOC: Bolgheri-Sassicaia DOC. Early vintages received mixed reviews, but the introduction of Tronçais oak barriques in the late 1970s saw a rise in quality that has been maintained ever since. Alongside the Grand Vin, the Tenuta San Guido estate produces a second wine, Guidalberto, and a third wine, La Difese.
