The Ruchottes-Chambertin 2009 from Armand Rousseau exhibits a blend of ripe red fruit and floral nuances, framed by a notable minerality. The palate reveals earthy tones with a stony texture, presenting a medium-bodied profile. Its structure conveys a certain muscularity, balanced by an enduring finish that hints at complexity. This vintage demonstrates potential for extended cellaring, reflecting Rousseau`s commitment to producing precise and age-worthy wines.

Good full red. High-toned, deeply spicy aromas of maraschino cherry, smoke, earth and minerals. Big, rich and harmonious, with lovely floral complexity to its red fruit flavors. Wonderfully silky and round without leaving any impression of undue weight. Extremely pliant wine with very supple tannins and a rich, long finish. Beautifully balanced from the start but Rousseau's top cuvees in 2009 should really be cellared for at least a decade.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2012
