Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is an exceptional blend composed of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4.5% Petit Verdot, and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. Despite being a small vintage, it impresses with a rich and spicy character, possibly heightened by the dry conditions of the year. Yet, it maintains an effortless refinement. Precise and perfectly ripe blackberry fruit intertwines with a myriad of savoury complexities, culminating in a truly world-class wine.

The 2021 Monte Bello is a top-tier wine from this reverential site in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The blend contains quite a bit more Merlot than usual (31%), which is a reflection of reduced Cabernet yields stemming from the drought-riddled 2021 growing season. Broad, infinitely layered and rooted in deep spice tones, the 2021 opens with a forceful kick of wild blackberry and orange peel, delving deeper into complex layers of black olive, new leather, violet and sweet pipe tobacco. Surprisingly giving and undeniably fresh, the 2021 is precise, laser-focused and propulsive, stationing the midline of the palate with an army of well-honed tannins and culminating in a finish that seemingly never ends. Full bottle 1,312 g. 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot (no Cabernet Franc thanks to red blotch). 63 tons of fruit from 51 acres. Again, as with the Santa Cruz Mountains Estate Cabernet, the chief worry was the tannins which were extracted very fast from tiny berries. Press wine decision was therefore difficult; they omitted wine from the last press cycle. Bottled June 2023. Normally they would double decant this wine before serving it but this wasn`t. Official notes. ‘Warm weather in August, especially at the higher elevations, expedited ripeness. For the first time, we harvested from the top vineyard at Perrone to the bottom at Klein. The drought reduced yields by more than a third, resulting in small berries with exceptional tannin and colour concentration. This year, instead of all parcels finishing malolactic in barrel as in the past, 60% finished in tank. This classic Monte Bello will develop over the next twenty to twenty-five years. Hand-harvested 1 – 24 September with average Brix 24.4°° TA 6.90 g/l, pH3.46. Grapes destemmed, 100% whole-berry fermentation. Fermented on the native yeasts. Natural malolactic. Twenty-two Monte Bello parcels. 100% new oak barrels. 92% American oak, 8% French oak and 19 months in barrel. Estate-grown Monte Bello vineyard grapes, destemmed and sorted; fermented on the native yeasts; full malolactic on the naturally occurring bacteria; oak from barrel aging; minimum effective sulfur 35 ppm at crush, 108 ppm during aging; depth filtered at bottling. In keeping with our philosophy of minimal intervention, this is the sum of our actions’.Very deep, dark crimson. Great purity on the lovely complex balsam nose and a certain velvetiness of texture. The fruit is so charming and deep-flavoured that the tannins are slightly less obvious than in the Estate Cab, and in a way seem more savoury and bordeaux-like. Though they come out on the very end with fine acidity, too. Lifted and fresh. Bone dry.(JR)

Named after the historic vineyard area of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains has been a byword for fine Californian wine since the early 1960s. Ridge shot to fame in the fabled 1976 Judgement of Paris. It was at this groundbreaking blind tasting that the 1971 Ridge Monte Bello was pitted against some of the most revered First Growths of Bordeaux. It placed fifth. (NB: in a re-enactment of the same tasting held in 2006, Monte Bello 1971 placed first.)

Under legendary winemaker Paul Draper, Ridge Vineyards became renowned for the exceptional quality of its single-vineyard wines. Though Draper has now retired, the estate continues to produce terroir-focused wines with the same commitment to organic farming and traditional winemaking techniques. From the fine Bordeaux blends and Chardonnays of Monte Bello to the Zinfandels of Lytton Springs and Geyserville in Sonoma, and all points in between, Ridge Vineyards remains one of the most celebrated names in California wine.
