Richebourg Anne Gros 2010 is a distinguished Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the acclaimed Richebourg vineyard in Burgundy. The vines are over 60 years old, rooted in a clay-limestone terroir that imparts depth and character. This vintage showcases a blend of black cherry, herbal notes and subtle earthy undertones. The palate is structured, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Anne Gros is renowned for her commitment to biodynamic practices, allowing for a more authentic expression of terroir.

The 2010 Richebourg Grand Cru is showing very well, unwinding in the glass with notions of ripe cherries, cassis, dried flowers and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak. On the palate, it`s full-bodied, ample and layered, marrying the gourmand fruit of the 2009 vintage with the energy and satiny-textured tannin that characterize the 2008. Pure and penetrating, it`s reminiscent of the domaine`s more recent 2016 Richebourg.

(13.7% alcohol): Good bright, full red. Crushed berries, stony minerality and a menthol topnote on the nose. Creamy, sweet and full on entry, then extremely backward in the middle, showing less obvious fruit than the Clos Vougeot but great delicacy of texture for all its volume. The wine's superb, slowly mounting finish, featuring noble tannins, suggests a long and graceful evolution.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2013
