Raymond Lafon Half 2007 presents a rich golden hue, suggesting a dense and aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe apricot, honey, and subtle notes of floral undertones. The palate is layered with flavours of candied citrus, toasty oak, and a hint of spice, while a balanced acidity provides structure. The wine’s sweetness is prominent but not overwhelming, showcasing the Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes that are characteristic of this producer.
Produced in Sauternes, Raymond Lafon is known for its late-harvest wines that capture the essence of botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, which concentrates the sugars and flavours in the grapes. The 2007 vintage benefits from ideal growing conditions that allowed for the development of complexity. With a rich mouthfeel and lingering finish, this half bottle is designed for enjoyment now or could benefit from further aging.

Vinous
The 2007 Raymond-Lafon was tasted from two bottles. The second is slightly better with dried honey, a touch of petrol, saffron and yellow flowers on the nose with a hint of orange zest emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, smooth in texture with orange rind, marmalade and touches of allspice. Moderate length. This is probably at its peak. Tasted at the 2007 horizontal in Sauternes.
