In 1982, Champagne Louis Roederer founded the Roederer Estate in Mendocino County’s fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. All fruit is grown on the estate and is farmed organically and biodynamically, with meticulous attention to detail paid in the vineyards. This is a Traditional Method sparkling wine composed of roughly 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, aged for a minimum of two years on lees and containing a portion of oak-aged reserve wines. It is crisp, elegant and refreshing with notes of pear, apple, citrus peel, spice and toasted hazelnuts.

55.6% Chardonnay and 44.4% Pinot Noir, all estate-grown fruit. Base harvest 2020 makes up 86.7% of the blend. 13.3% is from reserve wines from 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015; 10% is aged in oak cask. A very small proportion of the blend underwent malolactic conversion. RS is 9 g/l. Disgorged in January 2023 – the very first disgorging batch of the lot. Carries the name Quartet in export markets but simply Roederer Estate Brut in the US.
Pale lemon in colour. Yeasty and saline nose with notes of ripe golden apple and lemon oil. Fresh acidity on the palate with well-integrated dairy, toast and cedar notes. Long autolytic biscuity finish that continues to develop. Absolutely delicious. It really needs some time in the glass to warm up and open to show its best. Consistently VGV.
