A blend of two organically farmed plots, La Rue aux Vaches (planted 2006) and Noyer Bret (planted 1956), combined to create a wine with youthful vivacity, seamless balance but subtle depth and complexity. 2017 is a lovely vintage with aromas of peach, almond and blossom, a keen thread of acidity and a long, vibrant finish.
Vinous
The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from two lieux-dits. Like the Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc, it has discreet flor-like aromas on the nose that I find distracting, and I hope they dissipate prior to bottling. The palate is balanced and rather tropical in style, displaying a fine bead of acidity and strong, honeyed passion fruit and mango notes toward the finish. Enjoyable, but not exactly the most Burgundy of whites you will taste this vintage. Neal Martin1st January 2019
