The original Etienne Sauzet [1903-75] put together a estate of approximately 12 hectares and established the Sauzet name as one of the top producers in Puligny-Montrachet. The Domaine is now run by Émilie Boudot and Benoît Riffault and all the vineyards have been farmed biodynamically since 2010. This release comes from ‘Les Folatières’, a well-regarded Premier Cru vineyard where Sauzet owns a 0.27-hectare plot. Broadly speaking, white Burgundies from the 2008 vintage strike a commendable balance between ripe fruit and lively acidity. This is a vintage that shouldn`t be underestimated, as the wines exhibit both potential and enjoyment.
