Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain Domaine de la Vougeraie 2023 is a Premier Cru Burgundy Chardonnay from high-altitude limestone terraces in Puligny-Montrachet. The 2023 season combined high yields with remarkable aromatic concentration and the wine retains a vibrant saline acidity that reflects its biodynamic origins and the thin soils of the site. On the palate the 2023 displays intense citrus and white floral notes backed by a flinty reduction and a persistent mineral finish that defines this high-slope climat.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
