Based in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was formed in 1999 when wine entrepreneur Jean-Claude Boisset decided to consolidate all the vineyard holdings of his various négociant companies acquired over the years. With nearly 40 hectares of vineyard area and over 30 different appellations – including six Grand Crus – Vougeraie is one of Burgundy’s shining stars. This cuvée comes from the Premier Cru ‘Champ Gain’, where the Domaine owns a 0.32-hectare plot with vines planted in 2008. Still in its prime youth, the 2021 vintage will benefit from a few years in the cellar before being opened.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
