Domaine Louis Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 2008 is a mature-vintage Burgundy white wine from the Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Louis Carillon is a former wine estate in Puligny-Montrachet, widely regarded as one of the finest in the village. In 2010, Carillon`s sons decided to split the 11-hectare estate into separate entities, forming Domaine François Carillon and Domaine Jacques Carillon. Since the division, wines from Domaine Louis Carillon are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike. "A classic village Puligny from Louis Carillon, whose historic domaine was divided between sons Jacques and François from 2009. This wine opens with notes of peach, white flowers, iodine and crème pâtissière. Medium-full, nicely balanced and glossy, with good cut and length for its level." Decanter, 2017

The 2008 Puligny-Montrachet Village from Louis Carillon (before the holdings were split between François and Jean-Jacques) has a commendable bouquet, considering that this Village Cru is approaching ten years old, with just a cheeky touch of mint developing with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, just a note of bitterness towards the back palate, although that just lends it tension and freshness. This is not just surviving but it is doling out plenty of drinking pleasure. Tasted at Sarah Marsh's 2008 White Burgundy tasting.Neal Martin1st May 2019

Pale greenish straw. Light nose but creamy, pleasing texture. Rather alluring almond flavours on the palate with some alcohol in evidence. Very impressive for a village wine. (JR)Jancis Robinson5th May 2017
