Pouilly-Fumé Buisson Renard 2001 is a Sauvignon Blanc from the legendary Loire Valley estate of the late Didier Dagueneau. This parcel on the flinty clay slopes of Saint-Andelain yielded a structural and concentrated wine in the 2001 vintage. Didier Dagueneau utilised 600-litre cigar-shaped barrels to increase lees contact, resulting in a broad, oily texture that departs from standard regional styles. The palate is defined by a dense mineral core and a smoky reduction. It remains remarkably fresh, showing the longevity possible through low yields and meticulous viticulture.
