Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Château Pontet-Canet has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and is classified as a Fifth Growth in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. Under the guidance of Alfred Tesseron and his son, Jean-Michel Tesseron, the estate has experienced significant improvements in vineyard management and winemaking techniques, leading to a rise in quality and reputation. 2008 is considered a very good vintage in Bordeaux. The weather conditions during that year were generally favourable, resulting in wines that exhibit elegance and finesse.

Tasted at the estate a few months ago (blind against the five 1855 First Growths, where it more than held its own), and again at home within the same week as this vertical. A great vintage to look out for, with brushed velvety tannins, brambled blackberry and cassis puree fruits, softened tannins at 12 years old, and a good dollop of confident mint chocolate notes on the finish. Not as long lasting as some vintages, but bursting with pleasure.Jane Anson15th October 2021

A meeting by chance with the 2008 Pontet-Canet prior to a small tasting of South African wines reminded me what a lovely wine this is. There is plenty of black fruit on the nose laced with graphite. The cedar component is less prominent than the previous bottled tasting. The palate is medium-bodied, a little drier and more austere than recent vintages, yet clearly well balanced with a surfeit of freshness on the slightly herbaceous finish. Quality and Consistency

Château Pontet-Canet is a highly-regarded Fifth Growth wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. In recent years, Pontet-Canet has become one of Bordeaux’s most innovative wine estates, implementing biodynamic practices in the vineyards, and introducing alternative fermentation and ageing vessels, such as concrete eggs – all in the pursuit of ever greater quality and purity in its wines.

Pontet-Canet produces Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends with Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines are typically full-bodied with excellent purity of fruit and considerable ageing potential. High critical acclaim for recent vintages, in particular from 2009 and 2010 onwards, has propelled the estate into the ranks of the best-performing producers in Pauillac. The estate is owned by Alfred and Michel Tesseron, members of a family of leading producer of fine aged Cognacs, who also own Château Lafon-Rochet in St-Estèphe.
