Established in 1849, Pol Roger remains family-owned and proudly independent to this day. The first ‘Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill’ was from the 1975 vintage and was released in 1984, with the launch taking place at Blenheim Palace. The exact blend is a closely guarded secret, but it is undeniable that the composition would meet the approval of the man to whom it is dedicated. There is nothing out of place in the 2002 vintage, it is a fresh and energetic champagne, with plenty of bright apples, pears, lime, floral and mineral notes.

The 2002 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill Vinothèque is such a classic wine for the vintage. Explosive and opulent to the core, the 2022 is seriously impressive. Baked apple tart, chamomile, acacia honey, hazelnut, coffee and orange confit stain the palate. Plush, generous contours wrap it all together in style. This is what 2002 is all about. Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill was launched in 1984 as the house's Prestige cuvée. Created in homage to Sir Winston Churchill, a lifelong lover of the Champagne House, the cuvée's style emulates the qualities that he preferred - robustness, a full-bodied character and relative maturity.
