Pingus Amelia 2007 is a Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero. Peter Sisseck produces this wine from extremely low-yielding vines, resulting in a profile of immense concentration and intensity. The 2007 vintage allowed for the development of deep, dark fruit notes alongside the influence of premium French oak. It features a dense, velvet-like palate of blackberry, dark chocolate, tobacco and exotic spice, culminating in a powerful, structured finish that shows the ambition of the project and the potential of the region. The wine showcases a remarkable balance of intensity and poise, marking it as a significant achievement for this celebrated producer.

Vinous
(there's just a single barrel of this juice) Bright violet. Explosively perfumed nose shows an exotic array of red and dark berry scents, with notes of bayberry, sandalwood and smoke adding complexity. Burgundy-like in weight and texture, with sweet raspberry and cherry flavors underscored by smoky spices and minerals. Whatever tannins are here have been sucked up by the sweet fruit, for now. Finishes with impressive energy and lingering spice and red berry notes.Josh Raynolds1st September 2009
