Dominio de Pingus was founded in 1995 by Danish winemaker, Peter Sisseck. With incredibly small production of extremely old-vine Tempranillo, he is one of the most acclaimed producers in the Ribera del Duero region and has a global reputation for thoroughly modern, highly characterful and long-lived wines. The 2004 offers up intense black fruit character together with spicy, floral nuances such as incense, truffle and lavender.

Dark violet. Expansive yet suave bouquet of smoky blackcurrant, blueberry and boysenberry, accented by vanilla, clove, iron, sandalwood, cigar box and minerals. Remarkably graceful and sweet, with outstanding depth and richness. Offers striking concentration and finesse and finishes utterly seamless, deep and extremely long. Josh Raynolds1st September 2006

Sweet dark perfume as well as a light fresh cedary note. Tannins are smooth and velvety – both seductive and refreshing in their finesse. Succulent on the palate, really very polite and very long. As it opened up, it became more exotic and surprisingly seemed more youthful than at first taste. (JH)
