Pingus 2003 is a full-bodied Tempranillo red wine for the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The producer of one of Spain`s most sought-after cult wines, Dominio de Pingus was established in 1995 by Danish oenologist Peter Sisseck. The estate`s flagship bottling is produced from 100% old-vine Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). Made from extremely low yields, this is a wine with unique concentration, balance and length. The perfect harmony of ripe fruit, beautifully integrated tannins and elegant floral complexity. On the 2003. "Although I would not regard the 2003 Pingus as a perfect wine, it remains a fantastic Ribera del Duero. It has a scintillating bouquet of dark cherries, graphite, black truffle, Indian ink and liquorice that is incredibly precise. The palate is rounded and opulent on the entry. an unashamedly luscious wine with a silky-smooth texture. It is generous and perhaps a little more forward than I was expecting, but it is a Pingus that is impossible to dislike." Wine Advocate, 2012

Saturated purple-ruby. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, gunflint, chocolate, minerals, flowers and sexy nutty oak. Wonderfully lush, creamy and sweet, with extraordinary concentration of dark fruit, mineral and floral flavors. A wine with no corners, and hard to scrape off your palate. Broad on entry, then expands to a new dimension on the back half. Finishes with outstanding persistence and noble tannins that coat the incisors. The wine`s oak component strikes this taster as particularly suave and harmonious. . Stephen Tanzer1st September 2005
