Château Phélan-Ségur 2000 is produced at a 70-hectare estate in Saint-Estèphe, renowned for its gravelly terroir. Acquired by Philippe Van de Vyvere in 2017, the property has a history dating back to the 18th century. This vintage comprises approximately 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine displays a structured profile with notes of dark fruits, such as blackcurrant and plum, alongside hints of cedar and tobacco. The tannins are prominent, suggesting a significant aging potential.

Vinous
Moderately saturated ruby-red. Slightly medicinal, spicy aromas of cherry, licorice and currant leaf. Rather backward and a bit tough in the mouth, with black fruit, plum and violet notes and modest sweetness. Finishes with very firm tannins.Stephen Tanzer1st May 2001
