Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The 2009 Penfolds Grange included just 2% of Cabernet Sauvignon and has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It gallops out with notes of prunes, raspberry preserves, and fruit cake, followed by hints of licorice, coffee beans, and cigar boxes. The full-bodied palate delivers lots of savory and mineral layers with well-knit acidity and with a slight, not unpleasant, chewiness to the texture, finishing savory.Lisa Perrotti-Brown9th August 2023

There would have been a difference in the way the team worked with the tannins from a decade earlier, with a little barrel ferment and softer extraction methods (components were made at Magill still in the old basket press for the part of Grange that comes from this site). (98% shiraz and 2% cabernet sauvignon): Inky ruby. Intense spice- and mineral-accented aromas of cherry pit, blackberry and plum, with smoke and floral qualities adding complexity. Taut and linear on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering zesty dark fruit and violet pastille flavors and hints of licorice and vanilla. Finishes smoky, spicy and very long, with youthfully firm, building tannins adding grip. In a relatively taut, wound-up style for this wine; by all means give it some age.Josh Raynolds1st July 2014

Grange is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. It boasts an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951. The Grange style is the original and most powerful expression of Penfolds multi-vineyard, multi-district, blending philosophy. 98% Shiraz, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Magill Estate. TA 6.6 g/l, pH 3.53. 18 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads.>
Inky core with blackcurrant rim. Gorgeously seductive perfume. sweetly spiced – Christmas spice – fruit with the sweetness of oak but all so well entwined. There`s a hint of tar and savoury character. On the palate, creamy, vanilla, rich and so gentle and polite – or so it seems, though there is plenty of muscle underneath. 100% new oak. `No other way to make Grange`, says Gago. Lots of sweet US oak flavour on the finish. Sweet baking spice too and some liquorice. Vanilla sweetness. Concentrated and dry and pressed down even though it is so young. Opens up to lovely perfume again. More savoury on the nose than on the palate. Thick and deep. Coming back to it half an hour later. more savoury, somehow squashed on the palate. Tannins remarkably smooth. Chocolate all the way. Freshness and really great length. (JH)
