Pape Clément 2011 hails from Château Pape Clément, a historic estate established in the 13th century by Bertrand de Goth, who later became Pope Clement V. This wine originates from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, characterised by diverse gravel-sand and clay-limestone soils. The 2011 vintage features a deep profile with dark fruit aromas and a noted tobacco scent, reflecting the estate`s typical expression. The palate reveals a fresh quality, marked by concentrated fruit and notable structure.

Vinous
The 2011 Pape-Clement is just a little disjointed on the nose compared to others, though it does cohere with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fresh and quite structured towards the finish. Classic Claret really - no more, no less. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting.
