Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

2014 Ornellaia is a blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot and 14% Cabernet Franc. Named ‘L’Essenza’ (Essence) by the winery, this wine shows all the natural character of Ornellaia and its terroir. Lively and fresh with sweet fruit, spice, dried herbs and tobacco. Akin to many 1990s expressions.

To be released in May 2017, the 2014 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia reverts to a style and personality that we have not seen in a long while. The wine shows a tight, silky and determined approach that reminds us of the Ornellaias made under the estate's previous ownership with the Marchese Lodovico Antinori in the mid-1990s. More than anything else, this has to do with the very unique characteristics of the 2014 growing season. The wine opens to a beautifully saturated and dark appearance. Thanks to the advanced age of the vines and their extensive root systems, fruit quality was well preserved despite the cool summer and late harvest. The wine shows sweet fruit nuances with blackberry and dark currant. Spice, leather and tobacco fill in the rear. The finish reveals just enough of that acidic prickle to assure an easy ten or fifteen year drinking window.Monica Larner28th April 2017

The 2014 Ornellaia is a powerful, earthy wine. As has always been the case, the 2014 has a very strong, powerful imprint with heavy toast notes. In 2014, Ornellaia is very dark, with a distinctive mocha/torrefaction component that has always been one of its signatures. I confess, the 2014 remains a mystery wine. I just don't see the pedigree here that has been such a signature since the debut vintage in 1985. The 2014 has always been a difficult, stubborn Ornellaia with aggressive tannins. Time in the glass brings out a measure of aromatic freshness. Even so, the 2014 remains tightly wound and in need of time to be at its very best. A Legendary Super Tuscan

Founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori, the wines of the Ornellaia estate show remarkable consistency and are rightly considered an Italian great. Famed for its legendary Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Super Tuscan wine (blended with a smaller percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot), the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia lies near Bolgheri in Tuscany, on the Mediterranean coast. Renowned winemaker Axel Heinz was first appointed in 2002.

Starting with the release of the 2006 vintage in 2009, Ornellaia has produced the highly coveted Vendemmia d'Artista series; a celebration of the unique character of each new vintage in which a contemporary artist creates a work of art and a series of limited edition labels drawing inspiration from the single word chosen by the winemaker to describe the character of the new vintage. Celebrated contemporary artists have included Shirin Neshat, William Kentridge and Ernesto Neto.

The Ornellaia estate also produces a beautiful white wine, Ornellaia Bianco, which is a white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier; the superb Sauvignon Blanc-dominant Poggio alle Gazze; a beautiful red Mediterranean expression known as Le Volte dell'Ornellaia; the 'second' red wine, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia and a late harvest Petit Manseng sweet wine known as Ornus.
