Situated in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 when wine entrepreneur Jean-Claude Boisset opted to centralize all the vineyard holdings from his various négociant companies accumulated over the years. This particular cuvée originates from the Premier Cru `Les Damodes` where the domaine owns a 0.9-hectare plot with vines planted in the mid-1980s. The 2022 vintage proves to be highly promising, showcasing Burgundy`s ability to maintain its distinctive character even in the presence of increasingly extreme weather conditions.
Vinous
The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, wild strawberry, and light violet aromas, with a light potpourri note in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine acidity, quite fresh and lively towards the finish with what feels more elegant than the Clos des Thorey.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
