Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron was formed in 1926 with the marriage of Jean Confuron and Anne Marie Bouchard, consolidating the vineyards of two different families. Based in Premeaux-Prissey, the estate consists of 8 hectares of vines across 14 appellations, including parcels in the prestigious Clos de Vougeot and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. This cuvée comes from ‘Aux Boudots’, a special premier cru site that sits on the boundary of the northern Nuits-Saint-Georges and southern Vosne-Romanée border.

Good full red. Wild, musky, slightly reduced aromas of dark berries, leather and meat. Very round and seamless, with strong notes of oaky torrefaction. Shows less fruit vibrancy than the Beaux Monts and comes across as more aggressive--and decadent--on the back end. Plenty of power and palate-saturating tannins here.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2012
