In celebration of its 280th anniversary, Moët & Chandon has introduced its new prestige cuvée, encapsulating the `Haute Oenologie` vision. Collection Impériale Création No. 1 is a blend of seven different vintages dating back to 2000, matured in three aging materials: bottle on lees, wood, and stainless steel. Each component has been meticulously chosen and cultivated in unique settings to enhance its distinctive characteristics. The champagne was elaborated without dosage, which represents a noteworthy departure for the House. The final effect is complex and remarkable; it`s a beautifully crafted champagne that will continue to evolve gracefully.

A blend of seven vintages based on 2013, also 2012, 2010, 2008 and 2006 blended in spring 2014 and aged on lees for nine years. This bottle disgorged March 2022 and after many blind tastings zero dosage. 42.5% was oak aged, 42.5% aged in tank, the blend topped with 15% 2004 wine poured from bottles that had already matured for nine years on lees.
Very fine bead. Pungent nose that's quite reduced at first with some citrus peel and with quite an unusually chewy finish. Multi-layered and with some aspects that are already quite mature. A wine to chew over – definitely not a casual aperitif style! It may be zero dosage but has nothing in common with the austere zero-dosage grower champagnes which tend to be much younger. If you're looking for freshness above all, this is not the champagne for you but it's certainly intriguing, with a slight sweetness on the finish. (JR) — Jancis Robinson, 20th July 2023

The Pillar of Champagne Excellence

Moët & Chandon, founded by Claude Moët in 1743, quickly gained favor among European nobility during King Louis XV’s reign. Jean-Rémy Moët, Claude's grandson, expanded the brand internationally, with a notable friendship with Napoleon Bonaparte, who frequently visited the estate and inspired the creation of Moët Impérial.

In 1832, the company was renamed Moët et Chandon, incorporating Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles as a partner. The house launched its first vintage Champagne in 1842 and introduced the renowned Dom Pérignon label.

Now part of the LVMH group, Moët & Chandon has the largest vineyard in Champagne and extensive cellars for aging their wines. Cellar master Benoît Gouez upholds the brand’s signature style, blending grapes from various terroirs to create a harmonious product.
