Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial 1988 is a vintage Champagne produced by Moët & Chandon in Reims, France. Brut Impérial is Moët & Chandon’s iconic Champagne first created in 1869. It embodies the house style of bright fruitiness, a seductive palate and an elegant finish. "So slick and clean. The best standard vintage Moet we have had in years. A solid wine. This wine perfectly marries the ripe fruit and toasty character. Full bodied and refined with a long silky texture. A perfect Champagne for drinking now but will age for years to come." Wine Spectator, 1993

The Pillar of Champagne Excellence

Moët & Chandon, founded by Claude Moët in 1743, quickly gained favor among European nobility during King Louis XV’s reign. Jean-Rémy Moët, Claude's grandson, expanded the brand internationally, with a notable friendship with Napoleon Bonaparte, who frequently visited the estate and inspired the creation of Moët Impérial.

In 1832, the company was renamed Moët et Chandon, incorporating Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles as a partner. The house launched its first vintage Champagne in 1842 and introduced the renowned Dom Pérignon label.

Now part of the LVMH group, Moët & Chandon has the largest vineyard in Champagne and extensive cellars for aging their wines. Cellar master Benoît Gouez upholds the brand’s signature style, blending grapes from various terroirs to create a harmonious product.
