Roulot Meursault Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir 1996 (Missing Vintage Tag) is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the lieu-dit of Les Tessons in the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Roulot is one of the leading wine properties in Meursault, with numerous holdings across the appellation’s Premier Cru sites. Originally founded in 1830, the estate is currently run by actor and winemaker Jean-Marc Roulot. Although officially a village-level wine, Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir is considered by many to be of Premier Cru quality, and indeed runs contiguously with several Meursault Premiers Crus. Roulot`s vines in this clos were planted in the 1950s.

The 1996 Meursault Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir has a distinctly musky nose that shows too much oxidation to be described as pleasurable. There's some VA here with a bitter finish. It suggests a wine that should have been consumed a few years ago. Tasted at the Meursault dinner in Hong Kong. Neal Martin25th June 2024
