Domaine Coche-Dury is a highly regarded Burgundy wine producer, which was established in the 1920s. The estate, which is currently led by Raphaël Coche-Dury, consists of approximately nine hectares, predominantly in and around their winery in Meursault. This particular release comes from Perrières, a premier cru vineyard situated at the southern end of Meursault – considered by many to be the best of the region. The 2012 vintage is drinking incredibly well now. It’s a dense yet fresh wine, offering some bright acidity, strong mineral presence and a long, sweet finish.

(malo almost finished): Sexy aromas of lemon and musky minerals, plus a hint of grilled oak. Sweet and opulent, but with racy acidity framing the lemon, orange and menthol flavors and giving cut to the wine. Really lipsmacking combination of acidity and minerality here. Finishes sappy, sweet and very long, with penetrating orange and crushed rock notes. (Coche's Corton-Charlemagne was almost finished with its malolactic fermentation but was hard-edged and totally locked up, so I will wait to taste it in its finished form.)Stephen Tanzer1st September 2013
