Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault 2005 is a full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Coche-Dury is one of the most prestigious estates in Meursault, described by Jancis Robinson as "the most reliable source of great white Burgundies". The domaine was established in the 1920s by Léon Coche and in 1973 was renamed Coche-Dury when Léon`s grandson, Jean-François, added his wife’s surname. "This remains remarkably youthful with its super primary, pure and very fresh nose of hazelnut, orange peel and subtle spice note. There is outstanding punch to the impressively, indeed almost painfully intense and vibrant middle weight flavours that brim with obvious minerality on the impressively long and palate staining finish. This is first rate juice for a villages level wine and the balance is so good that this will easily hold for many years to come. In a word, terrific. Note that while this isn`t quite at its peak it`s not so far away that it couldn`t easily be enjoyed now." Burghound, 2016

Tight, stony nose is youthfully subdued but vibrant. Distinctly less showy and fat today than the Genevrieres but already displays superb energy and thrust, with sharply delineated flavors of lemon, lime and minerals. All cut today and in need of extended bottle aging. As backward as this is, its deep sweetness suggests that it will be more than outstanding.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2007
