The Meursault Les Petits Charrons Arnaud Ente 2013 is a meticulously crafted white Burgundy made entirely from Chardonnay. Sourced exclusively from the Les Petits Charrons lieu-dit in Meursault, this wine stems from a mere 0.17 hectares owned by Ente. The 2013 vintage reveals a precise nose with notes of lemon zest, green apple and chalky minerality, complemented by subtle white flowers. Its palate displays vibrant acidity and a focused, saline finish, characteristic of the cooler vintage.

Aroma of sweet lemon drop. Then rounder on the palate than the Clos des Ambres, with its bracing acidity (5.2 grams per liter!) buffered by a degree of sucrosite that's extraordinary for a chardonnay carrying just 12.4% alcohol. The strong acidity extends the wine's intense peach and pineapple fruit on the finish.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2014

This parcel is by Grands Charrons and Chevaliers. Rich palate entry and then almost compensates for the fine acidity and determined lack of flab. I would still wait for this for quite a while however. Chewy and demanding. I wouldn’t mind a bit more juice. (JR)Jancis Robinson3rd November 2014

Balance and Complexity

A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. The Domaine owns four hectares which are managed with a very small and hands-on team. The key grape varieties here are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used to produce stand out Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir that are renowned for their precision and elegance.

The style has tended towards the opulent, with late picking for fuller ripeness being a key part of Arnaud's philosophy in the 1990s. More recently though the wines have presented with greater levels of freshness and minerality as the winemaking practices have changed and evolved.
