The Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate was formed in 2001 when Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey – both from Burgundy winemaking families – joined forces. Today they produce wines from approximately 13 hectares of vineyards, situated in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. The 2015 Meursault Les Narvaux displays an expressive and lively aroma, where notes of marzipan and nutmeg intermingle with vibrant citrus fruits. It has a bold and energetic character that adds to its charm. On the palate, there is a harmonious balance, showcasing flavors of orange cordial and juicy tangerine.
Vinous
(Colin picked this fruit on the fourth day of the harvest, which he described as possibly a bit late): Strong white peach and nectarine aromas accented by anise and white pepper. More plump and sweet than most of the preceding wines from Chassagne and Puligny, and a bit warm in spite of the fact that its alcohol is not quite 13%. Nicely concentrated, and lifted by a peppery nuance (and some CO2), but doesn't quite come alive today. Will this show more personality by the time it goes into bottle?Stephen Tanzer1st September 2016

The 2015 Meursault Les Narvaux has an upfront, quite extroverted bouquet with marzipan and nutmeg-tinged citrus fruit, a little raucous but there is nothing wrong with that. The palate is well balanced with orange cordial and tangerine notes, nicely balanced, although I feel that the warmth of the growing season just shaved away a little definition on the finish.Neal Martin28th April 2017

Minimalist approach to Burgundy wines

Established in Chassagne-Montrachet in 2001 through the collaboration of Pierre-Yves Colin and his wife Caroline Morey (both hailing from historic Burgundy winemaking families) the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey estate comprises approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across the appellations Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Meursault.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the eldest son of St-Aubin winemaker Marc Colin. Since leaving his family domaine in 2005 to launch his own winery, Pierre-Yves has become one of the most-lauded winemakers on the Côte d'Or. His approach is very much minimal-interventionist: no batonnage for whites; minimal racking and extended élévage across the board.

Pierre-Yves’ vineyard holdings are centred on the Côte de Beaune appellation of St-Aubin (including the Premiers Crus of Chatèniere, Champlots and Remilly) and Chassagne-Montrachet (including the Premiers Crus of Chenevottes and Caillerets).

Pierre-Yves’ cellar is shared with his wife, Caroline Morey. The daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, whose family has cultivated vines in Chassagne since the 16th century, Caroline created her own domaine in 2014.
