Vinous
The 2006 Meursault Les Chevalières sports Jean-François Coche’s trademark reductive tincture on the nose, struck match scents complemented by tangerine and a hint of menthol. The palate comes across as very well balanced with notes of lemon sherbet and stem ginger. The most noticeable aspect of this wine is how backward and un-evolved it is compared to its peers, as if there has been little movement in recent years. It is a Meursault that seems happy in its place and despite being only a Village Cru, will have a surprisingly long life. Tasted at Tin Dinh restaurant in Paris. Neal Martin1st July 2018
