Meursault Genevrières Bouchard 2009 is a white Burgundy crafted from Chardonnay grapes in the Premier Cru Genevrières vineyard. This site, owned by Bouchard Père & Fils, encompasses 2.65 hectares and is recognised for its ability to produce white wines with considerable depth. The 2009 vintage was characterised by warm conditions, resulting in ripe, concentrated fruit profiles. Established in 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils is renowned for its meticulous vineyard practices and expertise in Burgundy, ensuring wines of both quality and longevity.

Bright pale yellow. Musky white peach, white truffle and toasty vanillin oak on the nose. Juicy, bright and fine-grained, with a creamy quality to the peach and toast flavors. Boasts lovely balance for the year. Although this is showing its wood today, Prost told me that he used very little new oak in 2009 (just 12% or 13% overall) as the estate now believes that the tannins of slowly dried new oak are catalysts for oxidation.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2011
