Domaine Coche-Dury is a highly regarded Burgundy wine producer, which was established in the 1920s. The estate consists of approximately nine hectares, predominantly in and around their winery in Meursault, where this release comes from. The 2010 vintage is a precise and lifted expression, revealing notes of lemon peel, flint, toasted hazelnuts and peaches, all complemented by a mouth-watering acidity.

The 2010 Meursault Village from Coche-Dury has a fresh, tight bouquet at first, gradually unfurling to reveal shucked oyster shell and sea spray notes that gain intensity over the course of 15-20 minutes. The palate strikes a sublime balance with a domaine-typical judicious line of acidity that keeps this Meursault on its tiptoes. Toward the finish, white chocolate and hints of marzipan emerge, completing (predictably) a sublime 10-year-old Meursault that is probably à point. Tasted at Hatched restaurant in London. Coche-Dury continue to farm 2.5ha of Pinot Noir as well as 8ha of Chardonnay – the same area since 2005. Just two casks of this are made and the quality of Coche`s reds seems to increase every year. Very fresh, refreshing fruit. Extremely fruity but textured too. Pretty ,fairly light, with a kick on the finish. (JR)
