Meursault Clos Richemont Henri Boillot 2023 is a Chardonnay white wine from a distinguished monopole vineyard in the Meursault appellation. Nestled adjacent to the illustrious Les Perrières, Clos Richemont is known for its distinctive terroir, characterised by clay-limestone soils that contribute to the wine`s complexity. The 2023 vintage showcases a balance of fresh citrus and nutty characteristics, complemented by a marked mineral backbone. The palate reveals a full-bodied structure that maintains clarity and focus, leading to a refined finish.
Vinous
The 2023 Meursault Clos Richemont 1er Cru is a rich, dense wine. Strong tropical accents play off a core of tangerine peel, passion fruit, brioche and sweet spice. It’s a wine for readers who enjoy the more opulent side of Côte de Beaune whites. There is certainly no shortage of power, depth or structure here.Antonio Galloni1st February 2025

Father and Son

In some ways, Henri Boillot has one foot in the past and one in the present. His family domaine, which he manages with his son Guillaume, has a history dating back to the 1880s, but the wines produced from their Meursault-based winery are undeniably modern, approachable and ranked among some of the very best in the region. Alongside operating a highly successful négociant business, the Boillot family own around 14 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune including a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru monopole in the form of Clos de la Mouchère.

The winery don't shy away from the use of new oak and any overtly woody character is generally well balanced by ripe fruit. The Chardonnays range from citrus driven and fresher at the villages level all the way to ripe, tropical and creamy at the Grand Cru level. The reds are lighter and more elegant than they used to be with Henri's son Guillaume preferring a less extracted style of Pinot Noir.
