Arnaud Ente Meursault Clos des Ambres 2015 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. On the 2015 Meursault Clos des Ambres. "A slightly riper yet still notably fresh array consists of pear liqueur-like aromas where additional breadth is present in the form of apple, roasted nuts and acacia blossom. There is more volume and richness to the medium weight flavours that possess a sappy mouth feel thanks to the copious level of dry extract, all wrapped in a slightly more complex finish that is both clean and dry. This very rich effort will easily be approachable young but once again, should have no trouble aging." Burghound, 2017

The 2015 Meursault Clos des Ambres from Arnaud Ente is brilliant. Fresh and vibrant on the nose, with light touches of sea spray, this is tight and focused, just like the ’14. The palate has real mineral drive, quite Puligny-like in terms of its malic finish and flinty aftertaste. Whilst secondary market prices have been insane, there is no doubting the calibre of this Meursault. Tasted at the 05/15 Burgundy dinner in The Good Earth. Neal Martin17th June 2025

Balance and Complexity

A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. The Domaine owns four hectares which are managed with a very small and hands-on team. The key grape varieties here are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used to produce stand out Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir that are renowned for their precision and elegance.

The style has tended towards the opulent, with late picking for fuller ripeness being a key part of Arnaud's philosophy in the 1990s. More recently though the wines have presented with greater levels of freshness and minerality as the winemaking practices have changed and evolved.
