Coche-Dury Meursault Caillerets 2010 is a medium- to full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Caillerets, in the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Based in Meursault, Coche-Dury is a pre-eminent Burgundy wine producer, famous for its almost-mythical Chardonnay wines. The domaine was originally established in the 1920s by Léon Coche and today cultivates around 9 hectares of vineyards. This cuvée comes from Les Caillerets, in which the domaine owns a tiny 1ha plot. On the 2010. "A restrained and very cool nose features notes of fresh citrus, acacia blossom, wet stone and green apple hints. There is outstanding tension and drive to the beautifully detailed middle weight flavours that are built around a core of minerality on the saline and markedly dry but not really austere finish. I especially like the length here as the intensely really builds from the mid-palate to the explosive finish. This doesn`t have the sheer depth of its two premiers crus stable mates but this is still very impressive." Burghound, 2014

Vinous
Pale color. Nose dominated by lemon and stony minerality. Dense and sweet but quite austere, with an impression of creamy depth countered by a suggestion of grape skins. Finishes very firm and austere. Raphael Coche noted that this was the estate's hottest sector and lowest yield in 2010, which led to a lot of concentration of the skins, and a tannic quality like the 2005. Forget about this one for at least seven or eight years.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2012
