Meursault 2010 from Domaine Arnaud Ente is a village-level white Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune. This wine is highly sought-after for Ente`s meticulous vineyard work and long élevage in old oak barrels, which grants density and purity. The wine displays a deep focused profile, offering concentrated aromas of lemon oil, white peach, toasted almond and wet stone. The palate is intense and weighty, showcasing richness balanced by a persistent mineral-driven freshness.

Pale yellow. Bracing aromas of lemon, lime peel, tangerine and crushed stone. At once pliant and juicy, with a fine-grained, round texture to its fresh stone fruit and citrus flavors. Not about power but tasty and stylish. A lovely, persistent village wine. (Snap up Ente's Aligote or Bourgogne Blanc if you can find them. The former wine is remarkably rich for the variety, showing a sexy toasty quality, while the latter boasts terriific citrus cut and a lot of personality for its appellation. Both fully capitalize on what Ente describes as a classic vintage for him in terms of ripeness, acidity and pH.)Stephen Tanzer1st September 2012

The 2010 Meursault is a blend of En l’Ormeau and Casse Tete vinified together. It is a radiant, expressive wine endowed with layers of fruit supported by insistent minerality that gives the wine its centeredness. This is a serious Meursault that is likely to require some bottle age, but it is undeniably impressive, even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity. 2013+. Arnaud Ente began picking very early, on September 1st. The 2009s spent approximately one year in oak, followed by six months in steel. New oak was around 25%. The 2009s were bottled in March 2010 with no fining or filtration.. I tasted the 2010s from oak. Both vintages are very strong. - Antonio Galloni

Balance and Complexity

A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. The Domaine owns four hectares which are managed with a very small and hands-on team. The key grape varieties here are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used to produce stand out Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir that are renowned for their precision and elegance.

The style has tended towards the opulent, with late picking for fuller ripeness being a key part of Arnaud's philosophy in the 1990s. More recently though the wines have presented with greater levels of freshness and minerality as the winemaking practices have changed and evolved.
